What if GTA V police started spawning in Syria ?
This story is the first one i ever wrote and was supposed to be an answer on a thread i found on spacebattles.com.
At 1:34 PM somewhere in Syria a Police Cruiser from GTA V appears in front of an ISIS truck.
Seconds after The Incident: The truck crashes on the car that seemingly materialized into existence making the police inside it engage in a firefight with ISIS, a few seconds later the terrorists win with only one casualty and two injuries, after a few seconds of confusion one of them take the police cruiser and drive with the rest of the convoy after salvaging the left over handguns and ammo and then go to potentially convert the cruiser into an Improvised Armored Vehicle or salvage it.
Two minutes after The Incident: The insurgents start noticing something in the distance and prepare to fight assuming its Assads’ forces or rebels but don’t notice the spike strip on the road leading to the truck that was in front getting it’s tires popped and crashing as the rest of the convoy hits the brakes, seconds later more officers appear this time ready to fight with body armor and more vehicles and it turns out the things in the distance were police vehicles in a roadblock formation and after 12 seconds of firefighting a police helicopter seemingly materializes into existence and starts firing at the terrorists too. A minute later the insurgents are all dead but not without taking several officers with them.*
30 minutes after The Incident: Some civilians start noticing what seems to be police officers arriving in their location patrolling with police cruisers, a person tries to steal some food from someone not having eaten proper food in weeks and the officers arrest the person much to everyone’s’ confusion and terror.
6 hours after The Incident: Rebels start hearing from some civilians about what seemed to be police appearing and arresting someone, several minutes later some rebels start to see police officers appear in cruisers and on foot and after a soldier accidendly fires out of fear of an ambush another firefight starts with all of the officers taken care of relatively quickly but with several dead rebels. Half a minute later reinforcements appear in the form SWAT teams in armored vans, SUVs and helicopters appear and after 20-30 seconds kill all of the rebels.**
10 hours after The Incident: An increasing amount of bizarre reports about police forces appearing out of nowhere start popping up around a specific point in the middle of nowhere and killing a dozen rebels and after some studying of the reports dates’ and location the Syrian Armed Forces unit in the area realises that the enemy force appeared somewhere in the desert and started spreading out, so they send a platoon of soldiers to investigate and make an assessment of the enemy forces and are estimated to arrive there in 50 minutes.
11 hours and 3 minutes after The Incident: The platoon sent to investigate the weird reports haven’t returned and the only word their superiors got from them is that they were blocked off and chased by grey armored vans with english text written on them and that they are being outnumbered and outgunned by people in body armor while screaming, gunfire and what sounds like English can be heard in the background before the transmission ends. The skirmish gets passed off as a rebel attack.
24 hours after The Incident: Low quality videos start to appear on the internet of what appear to be American police officers and sometimes SWAT teams patrolling the streets or flying in helicopters with one of them showing a few of them engaging in a gunfight with ISIS forces.***
3 days after The Incident: While in the last two days more and more videos images and reports started appearing of police forces in the middle of Syria it started becoming more and more apparent that something is going on as sightings started increasing exponentially and the first TV news reports of The Incident started appearing and people quickly started noticing similarities of the officers with the fictional LSPD, FIB and NOOSE. ISIS members start posting videos on social media saying that they declare Jihad on what they consider to be “Jinn”.
5 days after The Incident: Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin and multiple other heads of state address their respective nations on the situation in Syria.
1 week after The Incident: It starts becoming apparent that the once fictional LSPD, FIB and NOOSE keep “respawning” with AFV attacks, airstrikes, gunship attacks, suicide bombings etc proving mostly effective but only slowing the police down before they return again with more SWAT teams, armored trucks and choppers, some Senior military personnel are starting to consider authorising the use of nuclear weapons as a last resort to stop the seemingly unstoppable police department from taking over the planet.
1 week and 2 days after The Incident: Mass evacuations and withdrawal of military forces is on full effect and neighbouring countries are raising their military alertness and putting artillery and air assets across the parts of their borders that connect to Syria as the three fictional organisations keep pushing forward slowly but surely while back in Europe and North America people start claiming that this is the end of the world and say everyone should repent to Christ/Allah****, and the world finds itself to a point where instead of natural disasters or a nuclear war being a very serious threat fictional police forces are instead.
1 week and 6 days after The Incident: Reports start to flood in that the LSPD, NOOSE and FIB instead of starting to invade other countries have stopped on the Syrian border with ground, aerial and naval presence and only attack when provoked but never leave the border.
2 weeks and 1 day after The Incident: The Syrian border ends up in a situation similar to the Korean DMZ and what used to once be Syria is declared as an international no go zone by the United Nations thus quickly and effectively putting the Civil War to an end. Scientists struggle to figure out just what is causing this reality breaking madness and if there’s any meaning or intelligent being behind this or if the fictional universes we create become real somewhere else in another universe and the Multiverse hypothesis gains a boost in possible validity ever since The Incident.
2 weeks and 3 days after The Incident: Manned and unmanned observational aircraft are sent in to see what is going on and find that the police is extremely trigger happy but other than that armed unfortunate civilians can still walk around with guns and live relatively normally just like in “Grand Theft Auto V”.
1 year after The Incident: While videos claiming this to be a sign of the end times and act of God or a distraction from what is really going on still use The Incident as a major point most of the public has already stopped caring about it.
*The insurgents got 3 stars for attacking a police cruiser and killing it’s officers.
**The rebels got 4 stars for assaulting multiple officers and attacking a police chopper.
***The video is extremely blurry with 360p being the max quality but those things could still be made out somewhat despite that.
****Depends on the religion obviously.
